It’s been less than a year since ITZY made their official debut in February of 2019, but this K-pop girl group is making waves in the US. Their latest offering for their American fans comes in the form of their premiere showcase tour ‘ITZY? ITZY!.’ This tour saw the girls, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna perform for their fans in Los Angeles, Houston, D.C., and NYC.

On January 26th, 2020, the girls lit up Brooklyn with a dynamic performance at Kings Theatre for the last leg of their North American tour. They opened the show with their monster hit “ICY.” The followed that up with “Its Summer” clad in white and silver futuristic club attire. Now that the crowd was woke, the girls slowed things down so, they could connect with their fans and show off their individual personalities. The girls played a little game called “mix song challenge.” This challenge involved the girls competing with one another to guess, which three songs made up this mash-up mix. The game was played in four rounds with the first three rounds being only K-pop songs and the last round only being American music. As the girls competed, Yuna was eager to guess, but never close enough to win. Likewise, Lia used the audience to help a lot, but in the end, it was Chaeryeong who won and got a key chain of the Statue of Liberty. On the other hand, Yeji and Yuna, as the losers of the game, had to give the audience a personal wake up call. Can you say what a sweet moment?

After the game, the girls took to the stage once again to surprise their fans with a rare performance. This time ITZY covered Twice’s “TT” and GOT7’s “Hard Carry.” The girls explained they chose to cover those songs because they admire those legendary K-pop groups so much. Chaeryeong said, “We chose those two senior artists because we respect and like them so much.”

Then after another short video, this one touting the girls’ accomplishments as rookies and being the fastest-growing girl group ever, the girls returned to the stage. This time they came to play another game, but this one was “Pass The Ball.” The game challenged the girls to pass a tennis ball via clear tubes from one another in a relay fashion until they could reach the basket. They had to get 5 balls in the basket in two minutes. Cue the fun because Lia kept dropping the balls even though she was so close. Despite the girls’ best efforts and even Yuna getting around the rules carrying the ball in just her tube the girls still failed the challenge. Then the girls did rock paper scissors to see who of them would take the punishment of failure. The lucky one to suffer was Lia who had to send the fans a serious amount of hearts. Adorbs!

Things then got thumping as the girls performed there heavy hit “Cherry.” The performance was so hot that Lia joked about needing water after the stage. Knowing that the show was coming to an end, the girls got emotional as they reflected on the show, the end of the tour and how grateful they were to be in New York. Chaeryeong even teared up a bit as she said we are so “happy to be here. Hope to see you again.” They told the fans that they were so glad to be in New York that they even took in the Broadway show, “The Lion King.”

The girls closed out the show with heartfelt goodbyes before their last two stages. They wrapped the show with a girl-power packed performance of “I want.” To close out the show they took to the stage one last time to burn it down with their song “Dalla Dalla.”

Their Brooklyn concert might have wrapped up ITZY’s premiere showcase tour  ‘ITZY? ITZY!,’ but here is to hoping that the girls will be back in the US very soon.
