NYLON‘s annual desert takeover returned for Coachella Weekend 1 with a ‘NOCTURNA’ themed night that brought out some of the biggest names in music, fashion, and entertainment.
Nylon always sets the tone for the afters in the desert and this year was no different. Taking place after the first day of Coachella on April 10, Nylon took over the Desert International Horse Park for a late night nobody wanted to end.

Matrix presented the evening’s event using the occasion to unveil a new partnership with KATSEYE. They are newest superstar girl group that has been blowing up lately. This year’s theme was NOCTURNA, and the concept was felt throughout the party with the moonlit ritual energy, poppin’ dance floor and sophisticated crowd that dressed the part. Later in the night, Diplo B2B HUGEL came through with a 2-hour DJ set. The music was on fire and made us feel like we were in Ibiza or Vegas. Honestly, it was the perfect energy to kick off the weekend. It had festival goers grooving into the late night hours with no complaints.

The Matrix x KATSEYE collab was very much felt throughout the party. There were several activations and photo ops throughout for guests to enjoy and take home goodies. In fact, one of those being the brand’s Food For Soft Oil as well as e.l.f. Cosmetics products, Neutrogena Hydra Boost Water Gel, and Trident gum. All had cool booths and moments to partake in. Furthermore, guests were able to cop hop hoodies which definitely came in clutch. We all know it gets chilly late night in the desert. Skechers were offering running shoes and Sally Hansen was providing nails.

The guestlist did not disappoint we are talking Rauw Alejandro, Olivia Holt, Big Sean, Rachel Zoe, Karrueche Tran, Amber Rose, Evan Ross, Shanina Shaik among plenty others. It was a stacked event. Ultimately, if you missed it start working on your invite for next year now.
