The Big Apple got even sweeter with a juicy night at the incredible third annual Gotham Television Awards.
A big bash full of industry luminaries, trailblazing creatives and groundbreaking producers who dare to dream and make it a bold reality gathered at Cipriani Wall Street on June 1. The start of summer sizzled in New York City with a night full of starry speeches and inspirational words from a podium so masterfully established by The Gotham Film & Media Institute.

Winners took home more than just than the coveted Gotham trophy. They got the support from a town who loves TV and the people who create it. Headline making names gathered at the ceremony alongside upcoming talents that are already illuminating with the same type of glittery glory.

The alluring celebration seemed to go by in a New York minute with the ceremony being electrified by nonstop excitement that kept the audience at home and the partygoers equally entertained.

The night kicked off with Breakthrough Comedy Series going to I Love LA followed by sublime call outs to other shows of great magnitude. Outstanding Lead Performance in a Comedy Series was awarded to Tim Robinson for his performance in The Chair Company. Laurie Metcalf won Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Comedy Series for her role in Big Mistakes.

Winning the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series was DTF St. Louis. The series also won Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited or Anthology Series, awarded to David Harbour.

The Outstanding Lead Performance in a Limited Series, was awarded to Michael Shannon for his role in Death by Lightning. Pluribus took home the Breakthrough Drama Series award. Outstanding Lead Performance in a Drama Series was awarded to Chase Infiniti for her performance in The Testaments. Babou Ceesay won Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series for his role in Alien: Earth.

Winning the Breakthrough Nonfiction Series award was Katrina: Come Hell and High Water. The Outstanding Original Film, Broadcast or Streaming award was Reflection in a Dead Diamond. Corey Michael Smith took home Outstanding Performance in an Original Film for his role in Mountainhead.

Special recognition went out to a bevvy of names who have contributed to the magic of TV. The Gotham presented Claire Danes with the Performer Tribute, The Duffer Brothers with the Visionary Tribute, Michelle Pfeiffer with the Legend Tribute, Kerry Washington with the Spotlight Tribute and the cast of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette with the Ensemble Tribute.

And leading the way for a bright future in the industry, The Gotham’s Series Creators to Watch this year in partnership with Series Fest highlighted emerging series creators whose work reflects bold creative voices within the evolving television landscape.

The creators selected include Kim Blanck, Jahmil Eady, Shaina Feinberg, Gideon Grody-Patinkin, Grace Hanna, Elvira Ibragimova, Derek Manansala, Hannah Shealy,Tyler Stuart, Celine Sutter, and Ewen Wright. Creators will have the opportunity to attend Gotham Week taking place September 27 through October 3 in New York City, where they will have access to participate in bespoke intimate industry sessions in addition to networking opportunities with the filmmaking community.
