Tribeca Festival rocks (and rolls, raps and plays all the music of the world in perfect harmony.
As the beloved cultural event hits a monumental year 25th Anniversary, it is set to be one of the world’s largest platforms for mixing all media and showcasing a music program that dazzles. From documentaries to music videos to live performances, iconic musicians have returned to Tribeca year after year, evolving the fest into a unique kind of music festival that marries music and visual media.
Tribeca’s Head of Music, Vincent Cassous has for the past few years helped elevate the programming to soaring new heights. His efforts combined with a passion for music make him a trailblazer in the industry.
With profound insight and award-worthy organizational skills, Cassous leads the way in booking the acts that are not just big in name. They are ones that are full of what the people simply want to hear.
“I think it’s really nice to see this grow,” he reflects to The Knockturnal. “When I started here, it was kind of a new job and there was no music programming person. I had to figure out what opportunities there were, and you know, build those relationships with Sony Music, Universal, and the Warners of the world…. We’re in a really good place now where people come to us to premiere.”
And it is combined efforts that have made Tribeca Festival a superstar in the space.
Time and time again, the biggest celebs to the hottest up and comers are a part of Tribeca Festival thanks to the charge of Cassous and other staff members who always care about what is being heard and played out to the planet.
Cassous is the Head of Music at the Tribeca Festival in New York. He is responsible for curating music programming, producing the festival’s music lounge, overseeing music documentaries, and managing live events for Tribeca’s year-round activations.
It is a position he holds with great pride. Knowing that it takes months of planning and hours of team labor, it is not a job to be taken lightly. Even greater is the fact that the fantastic team that supports him is part of being all part of a staff that knows nothing but how to harmonize for the greater good.
