Capturing the essence of a delicious scoop of ice cream with each sip of whisky
Last week, Glenmorangie hosted an intimate tasting event in New York City to introduce guests to their ever evolving whisky portfolio. The event was hosted at the Moet Hennesey lounge in downtown Manhattan where guests were able to try some of the delicious whisky expressions that Glenmorangie has to offer. Additionally, guests were able to indulge in specialty cocktails made using the Glenmorangie 12 and Glenmorangie 18 expressions.
And on this particular night, Glenmorangie unveiled their newest expression, Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream. This expression takes all the delicious caramel and vanilla notes that come with a Glenmorangie whisky and adds the decadence of ice cream with it. And to celebrate this new expression, Glenmorangie partnered with Aubi & Ramsa, a special Glenmorangie infused ice cream. This collaboration featured three distinct flavors which included:
- The Fairy Tale: A rich, sweet curdled milk ice cream made with Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream, finished with curdled milk bits, and topped with chocolate dust.
- The Nutty Tale: An elegant and creamy burnt custard nougat ice cream, made with Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream, and finished with almond nougat crumbs.
- The Mellow Tale: A candied, velvety marshmallow and vanilla bean ice cream, made with Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream, and finished with vanilla meringue crumbs.
All three ice cream concoctions were delicious and highlighted the essence of a quality whisky. To Glenmorangie, A Tale of Ice Cream encapsulates the ice cream parlour’s delights. With the vision in mind, A Tale of Ice Cream does just that. With prominent notes of vanilla, coconut, and ripe peaches, A Tale of Ice Cream takes the sweet and fruity flavors of the previous expressions to new heights. And this versatile expression is something that can be used for cocktails or all kinds along with sipping on the rocks. Moreso, we found that the sweetness and smoothness of this expression is just as perfect for whisky connoisseurs as it is for whisky novices.
To round out the night, the hosts from Glenmorangie offered a toast to all guests featuring the Glenmorangie 18 year whisky. The toast celebrated the history of Glenmorangie, hailing back all the way to 1843. Guests celebrated in turn with a sip of Glenmorangie premium whisky. The night ended with guests being offered customized Glenmorangie 12 and Glenmorangie 18 bottles engraved with initials of the guest’s choice.
