Who knew you could enjoy cheese virtually?
Last week, French Cheese Board hosted a fabulous cheese and wine event to celebrate the launch of their new NFT series called “NFT: Fromage in the Metaverse”. The NFT series is meant to introduce the variety of French cheese into the metaverse through immersive art and graphics – both through virtual reality and through traditional NFTs. The French Dairy Board commissioned 5 artists to create NFTs to describe how each artist felt when enjoying a specific cheese. These artists include Jakub Spacek, James Lee, Luke Conroy, Alex McLeod, and Lucas Lejeune. We got a chance to view the NFTs before they went live and the variety of art that was made was incredible. From a moving piece that resembles something like DNA all the way to a virtual reality experience where you can look around and see a setting that feels somewhat like a Looney Toons cartoon but centered around cheese and the different components that go into it.
At this event, guests were able to try some French cheeses that were selected by the French Dairy Board and pair it with a variety of wines that accentuate the taste of the cheese. And with the variety of accompaniments led to a fun mix and match session. The amount of unique clarified butters to also pair with the cheese was exceptional and can only be found at French Cheese Board.
