Mothers always know best—right? After watching this movie, we’re going to go ahead and say yes. In a nutshell that is the plot line of the upcoming horror film “Evil Eye” streaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 13. The film is part of the series Welcome to the Blumhouse.

Upon meeting Pallavi [Sunita Mani] introducing her new boyfriend Sandeep [Omar Maskati], her mother becomes increasingly suspicious of their new romance. On the surface, he appears to be the perfect match; but he reminds her mother, Usha [Sarita Choudhury] of her own sinister relationship history. Flashbacks of an abusive relationship start to haunt Usha. “I don’t think he ever went away,” she says of her previous relationship. Horrified, she begins to believe that her ex-boyfriend has become her daughters new boyfriend.

Very quickly, Usha grows increasingly paranoid and is desperate to warn her daughter of the danger she anticipates her new boyfriend will bring. Although not believing her at first; in a battle of both her spirituality and superstition, Pallavi begins to wonder if her mother’s concerns are valid after all. The film is based on the best-selling Audible Original production from writer Madhuri Shekar. Evil Eye is also notably the newest project Priyanka Chopra Jonas has joined as Executive Producer. Our correspondent, Katherine Tinsley, talked the upcoming film with the cast last week. Check out the exclusive interview above!
