During our zoom sit down, we had the pleasure of catching up with cast members Max Harwood (Jamie) and Lauren Patel (Pretti) about their experience bringing their roles to life. We also sat down with director Jonathan Butterell, to discuss his directorial debut.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie follows the journey of Jamie New, a teenage boy from Sheffield, United Kingdom, played by Max Harwood. We see Jamie as he navigates his senior year of school full of uncertainty for his future while dreaming of a life on stage as a drag queen after graduation. Luckily, with the help of his family and friends, Jamie gains the ability to not only embrace his newfound self but to change the narrative behind what life should look like after graduation. Inspired by the true story of Jamie Campbell, the movie takes a personal look into the challenges and silver linings of being Jamie Campbell.
