Nicole Scherzinger sat down with Knockturnal to discuss hair tips and tricks to achieve the perfect, Classic Hollywood look with a voluminous effect using Hot Tools, a luxury brand hair appliance that even Beyonce’s hairstylist wants to use.

Nicole’s investment into the Hot Tools brand convinced me of how innovative and professional these products were! She mentioned two in particular that were must-haves for the holiday season.

Interview with Nicole

The Knockturnal:
Hi Nicole, how are you today?

Nicole Scherzinger:
Hi, I’m good! How are you?

The Knockturnal:
I’m well! My name is Ranya Salvant and I’m with Knockturnal. I’m really glad to be doing this interview with you. By the way, wanna say big fan! I wanted to talk to you about Hot Tools. I know that you have partnered with Hot Tools and they’re one of your go-to beauty items. Could you tell us what your daily beauty routine looks like and how does Hot Tools play a role in that regimen?

Nicole Scherzinger:
My daily beauty routine well I wake up, I put my eye drops in and I take a shower after I can see cause I can’t see without my eye drops when I take my shower. I wash my hair, everything. And then after that when I get out, I put on, what’s it called? Like the thermal sprays? Heat protectant? Yeah…And then I use some heat protectant, towel dry first then heat protectant all over. And then I use my favorite tool right now, which is the Black Bold Quietair Power Dryer. It’s amazing because I get the blowout look, I get the volume at the roots that I want. I get the blowout look that I want…

The Knockturnal:
Oh nice.

Nicole Scherzinger:
It’s the…QuietAir Power Dryer and it’s 30% quieter than regular hair dryers, but still with the same results. So, it’s super amazing. I love that. And it’s got all these different attachments as well so you can choose different ways of styling your hair. So I do that. I just slept on a face of makeup and get ready for my day.

The Knockturnal:
It’s simple and nice. I was wondering as well with Hot Tools – because it’s actually quite unique. When you were talking about the products that you use from Hot Tools and you mentioned that was one of your favorites. Are there any products for, especially, somebody trying to get their holiday season look going, to have the ultimate look for the holiday season, trying to get ready for it? How can we as consumers or potential consumers incorporate Hot Tools to elevate our look?

Nicole Scherzinger:
Well, that’s what’s so beautiful about Hot Tools. You know…stylist love touches. They’re like professional tools that anybody can achieve any look that they want. That’s why I’m so grateful to be an investor cause I wanna inspire anyone to be able to achieve any look that they want and desire and feel, you know? And they can, ’cause they have every tool under the sun to be able to do that. I think for the holidays for me what I did was for my Masked Singer Finale look, it was a holiday theme. So obviously I used my Quietair Power Dryer to get the roots right. The volume is lifted at the roots and everything…I have all the different size barrels of Hot Tools. So I use like the smaller size barrel underneath to keep it tighter and then the bigger size barrel more around my face because I wanted to achieve like this really voluminous bouncy, curly, festive hair.

I think there’s two ways for the holidays…there’s a couple things that you can do…it’s all about like the nineties look right now. So I’m loving the blowout with the bend that Jennifer Aniston look, ’cause that’s really cool. So you can achieve that with the Quietair Power Dryer. And the best thing about the Quietair Power Dryer, like I said, is that…because it’s quieter, you can multi-task and you can do a million things like I tend to do at the same time, which is what I’m doing right now…so that’s what’s so great. It’s so quiet that you’re able to still talk…talk to my team, do the things I need to do, listen to the music or study the things…learn the music I need to learn.

So that’s super awesome. You can still mult-itask while you’re doing that. So you’ve got that look…I love the curling irons, you can achieve the voluminous look, but also with their Pro Signature Steam Styler, which is also 30% healthier for your hair, but same results if you can believe that. And you can use that Flat Iron Steam Styler with steam or without steam. And it’s really great because you can create voluminous curls with that too. You can create curls and beachy waves with that as well. But since it’s the winter and the holidays, I like to create the curl with it…we also have this awesome black Gold Dual Plate Flat Iron…because it’s a dual plate, you could like with just one swipe so you could save time. Cause we know we don’t have much time. You can get your hair flat because of the dual plates… Achieve the curl look with the flat iron, which is one swipe literally as well.

The Knockturnal:
Okay! It sounds like it’s really versatile.

Nicole Scherzinger:
Oh my gosh! You could do anything! You could create any look you want hot tools. That’s why I love being an investor this year. Are you seeing all the different hairstyles I do? I love it. It’s the best way. I love to express myself through my music, through my hair style, hair, through my style. It’s perfect.

The Knockturnal:
That’s awesome! As somebody who has like 3C/4A hair, it’s usually really hard for me to find like the right brand of hair appliances that will work with like the roots, you know, like you said. And so hearing you talk about Hot Tools and all these different products, it’s like making me wanna go ahead and buy some too, because it’s always been difficult for me. So it’s nice to know that Hot Tools is so versatile in that way.

Nicole Scherzinger:
So…what does that mean?

The Knockturnal:
It measures the curliness of your hair, essentially. So it comes in different categories of 1, 2, 3 and 4. Four being like really coarse hair. Especially if you’re in the African-American community, you typically have like 3 to 4A hair. And if your hair, or your curls, are a bit looser, you have like sometimes 2C to 3A hair.

Nicole Scherzinger:
That’s amazing. Yeah. Well, like, what I love about Hot Tools, it’s salon worthy hair. Like this is like professional… My hairstylist, they use Hot Tools…actually, my makeup artist, who’s like Beyonce’s makeup artist, the other day was like, “Hey, we love that you’re doing the Hot Tools stuff. Beyonce’s hairstylist wants some Hot Tool…they want some Hot Tools, like everything they have.” So I was like, can we send him some Hot Tools? Like it’s salon-worthy tools. It’s the best. It’s professional…I can honestly say that because I don’t have like the curl that you have, but I have very coarse hair having my Asian hair and so I can do anything with these Hot Tools…before I had represented Hot Tools I bought all the Hot Tools anyway…’cause my stylist always used them and they’re just best or honestly.

The Knockturnal:
Well, it sounds like Hot Tools is really gonna be the perfect gift for this holiday season, honestly.

Nicole Scherzinger:
It’s the best gift. I don’t know who wouldn’t want Hot Tools for a gift. Like it’s just gonna make you feel so good…when your hair’s looking good, you’re gonna feel like so good.

The Knockturnal:
I believe that. I really believe that when your hair looks good, you feel good.

Nicole Scherzinger:
Absolutely…sometimes I felt like if I had my hair done or like had a sweet blowout or something like that, I don’t even need much makeup. I feel better when my hair is done as opposed to like – my hair look crazy and I had a full face of makeup, but I feel like when your hair is done you don’t have to do much else.

The Knockturnal:
I agree. I completely agree… I love the voluminous hair look. I look at all of your styles and how you style your hair. It’s very much how I like to style my hair, you know? I wonder for you, do you ever have one of those days where you’re just like so mad at your hair and then like the perfect product comes in and just makes it easier for you? Not even have to worry about it?

Nicole Scherzinger:
Yeah, I think like for me it’s just about getting the heat protectant and the right product. And just like I said, the great thing about Hot Tools is they have everything…whether it’s the blow dryer to blow out your hair, whether it’s the the Steam Styler, whether it’s a flat iron. They have every barrel size under the sun and…you can achieve that look with any tool that they have, any look that you want, I believe.

And with all the different tools and all the different gadgets and attachments and everything…you could also be creative, really creative…especially with the 90s coming back in with all those like cool, fun TLC looks and stuff, I’m able to do that…this crazy Y2K and all that vibe-and-everything-too-look like you can achieve it with all of this and the right products.

The Knockturnal:
Yes. Those are some of my favorite looks like one of the things that I really enjoy is trying to achieve, like you said, that voluminous look in the front and trying to get the hair to have height. So when you mention trying to get to the roots with that specific product, I thought that was a really great bit of advice. Do you have like any other sort of like hair tips and things like that, neat tricks that you do that makes your look elevated and makes you love your hair?

Nicole Scherzinger:
I know it sounds silly and probably people do it, but like when I am blow drying my hair with the quiet air power dryer, like I flip over. It’s all about the right product that adds like volume to the root as well. ORBE has really good products for that and when you’re blow drying your hair and you flip over. Hot Tools have the best round brushes. I just like pull it away from the root. It just gives so much balance, so much balance and it’s. It feels healthy. And that’s what’s awesome about the Steam Styler too because it gets, it gets the same results but it’s healthier for the hair ’cause it’s 30% less heat. But you could use it as a regular flat iron too.

The Knockturnal:
And what is your favorite holiday look? You know, like if you were to really just go out and show out, what is your go-to?

Nicole Scherzinger:
I’m really into that nineties look…I’m loving that blowout with a bend, super simple…that nineties blowout with the bend. I tend to do the beachy waves more in the summer time. It feels super festive when I do that voluminous, bouncy curl. I call it “lady curls”. I like it cause it’s…a proper curl and it’s a curl that you can run your fingers through and it’s bouncy and…you could brush it down and it feels bouncy and festive and fun. Yeah. Does that make sense?

The Knockturnal:
That totally makes sense.

Nicole Scherzinger:
And to the side…I like a little side part too.

The Knockturnal:
Oh my gosh, side parts on my favorite!

Nicole Scherzinger:
A little side part. And to achieve that look with like that bend…like old Hollywood Classic…if you don’t wanna bouncy and everything. I really love the Hollywood Classic vibe…Jessica Rabbit-inspired, more structured, old classic Hollywood, around the face vibe, like bend curl around the face. Does that make sense?

The Knockturnal:
Yeah, that makes total sense. That’s a beautiful look. Yeah. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you answering my questions!

Nicole Scherzinger:
No worries, that was super easy!
