The Knockturnal was on the scene last week at DSW’s Fall 17 press preview.
DSW’s Fall Preview 17 was a cozy, yet elegant affair held at Pier 59 studio. The spacious studio allowed for a beautiful layout and presentation of this season’s upcoming designs, some offered exclusively through DSW. DSW’s preview not only showcased upcoming designs, it had a decorative vinyl station, complimentary cocktails and a pair of sneaker for guests to take home in swag bags.
The theme for this DSW Fall season was ‘March On,’ an empowering statement encouraging buyers to face obstacles head on. Some of the upcoming styles showcased were athleisure, statement materials, tailored, dress booties, over the knee boots, feminine details, military inspired, 80s inspired, men’s, kids and accessories. Some standout collections were athleisure which will include the silver metallic Reebok run as well as the Reebok Guresu 1.0. The athleisure collection features a softer palette of feminine tones like dusty pink, contrasted by metallics and dark florals.
The statement materials collection was another favorite of mine which featured velvets, suedes and reupholstered floral designs on ankle boots. Metallics were trending in the tailored collection and military inspired and over the knee collections were on trend as well.
Mix No.6 Stars and Aldo did exclusive collaborations with DSW to create the Suede collection and Floral Brocade collection, respectively. The Mix No. 6 includes a solid, suede backdrop with star decals and the Floral Brocade collection combines a beautiful ornate maroon and gold floral design over a black backdrop. The collections were the perfect balance of athletic and elegant.
