Designer Cristina Ruales presented her second Ready-to- wear collection during New Yorks fashion week on September 14, 2015.
Her inspiration this collection was “Celebrate your individuality.” We took a little look backstage and found hair stylist Edward Tricomi of Warren-Tricomi Salon on hair and Mahasin Phillips of Inglot cosmetics and her team on makeup. Edward stated that this collection incorporates a lot of straight cuts and lines so he wanted a very modern look. Models either had a click back bun with a Go Pro attached to their head to record the show or a shoulder length platinum blond wig with a bang or a surf cut round to the lines and a slanted cut right from their left bang. GO pro and Cristina Ruales linked up to record the backstage and during the show footage, which also gave the models a high-tech look. The cuts were either asymmetrical or symmetrical. The fabric and clothing pieces gave off a futuristic feel almost like Star Trek.
Makeup was definitely inspired by the mannequin vibe that the bob length wigs were giving. All the makeup used in the show was Inglot products. A metallic silver eye shadow added shimmer and life to the eyes with a light coat foundation and a nude glossy lip to top off the fresh-faced look. The product they used on all the models was by Inglot, which has been around for 30 years (5 years in U.S) it was created by Wojciech Inglot.
The show had a summery feel as models walked the green runway. The pieces were very breezy and fun. There was a piece in there that every woman could relate to. Cristina’s 25 piece collection used lots of pastels and soft colors with a splash of black paint like strokes on sides. The contemporary everyday ready to wear collection incorporated citrine, steel, deep blues and stark white. Ruales loves of color.
