To celebrate the release of History of the World, Part 2, the cast and crew stepped out for the red-carpet screening at the Hollywood Legion Theater. It is no secret that times have changed and comedians are often being checked for offensive jokes that would’ve been received with no issue in the past. So, is Brooks easing up on his take on some of the world’s most notorious events? “They’re pushing boundaries here; it’s Mel Brooks, that’s what he does. That’s what he’s always done so he don’t care what time it is. You can’t cancel Mel Brooks, he’s pushing all the boundaries he can,” joked Colton Dunn. The evening continued with a pre reception before guests were ushered into the theater to screen the first two episodes.
Executive producers Kroll, Sykes, Barinholtz, and Stassen gave a speech before being joined on stage by Mel Brooks himself to a standing ovation. “It is so great to be with all of these wonderfully talented people who love history and who love the picture and who just dedicated themselves and made this a remarkably, in my estimation, pretty funny,” Brooks said. After the viewing attendees headed to the after party that was also located at the Hollywood Legion where they mingled, enjoyed cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres and posed for memorable shots.
