And we were sluts for the eggslut…
On Wednesday, March 29th, Chefs Club Counter celebrated its opening on Spring Street with a huge VIP preview tasting. Chefs Jean Georges Vongerichten, Alvin Cailan, and George Mendes have come together to open up the first “fine-fast” food concept. What is great about this group of chefs is that Alvin Cailan is the mind behind the infamous Eggslut, which has made a huge name all around the west coast. During this evening, nearly 600 guests attended, all eager to try the dishes thought up by these culinary geniuses.
Some of the samples that were served included a JG Burger Slider, duck rice, grain bowls, tomato, stracciatella, wild mushroom, and chicory pizzas, and an eggslut crostini. We sampled a variety of the dishes and the three that stood out was the crostini, the burger, and the duck rice. The eggslut crostini was essentially scrambled eggs on a toasted crostini, representing a tasty but higher end breakfast delight that can now be enjoyed at all times of the day. The JG Burger is made with grass fed beef, pepper jack, avocado, and crisp red onions with a Russian dressing. And the duck rice is made with duck confit, black olives, citrus puree, and duck cracklins.
If you haven’t tried the new Chefs Club Counter yet then you better head on over to Spring and Lafayette to check it out. Trust us when we say that the infamous Eggslut deserves all the hype it is getting.
