Cash Money & 7 Kings Ent Signee GSO PHAT talks new single “Diddy Bop”, Future, & Potential

For as long as hip hop has been around, the south has been a staple for young artists with an established sound and persona that is durable enough for whatever the game can throw at you.

The music industry has its ups and downs and any artist that desires the fame and fortune that comes with being on top understands that it takes a massive amount of dedication along with perfecting your craft. Cash Money and 7 Kings Ent new signee, GSO Phat thinks he has potential to do just that. The Mississippi born Texas raised product has just enough potential to change the game. While the Cash Money artist might be just 19 years of age, he seems to have enough drive to take him to the top.

“ In terms of having what it takes, I truly believe no one works harder than me. I have a lot of music that is not even out yet. I have music videos already shot just waiting to be dropped. In terms of where I wanna be, I have not even scratched the surface.”

Taking everything in stride, Phat is extremely grateful for everything. When speaking on the opportunity to sign to Cash Money he described it as a dream turning into a reality.
“It really was a dream come true to sign to Baby and Cash Money. If you think about how many legends have come through Cash Money it truly is a blessing. What really caught me by surprise is how quickly everything has happened. I feel like I just started not too long ago, and the fact that I came this far already, speaks volumes to what the future holds.”

When it comes to the music itself, the product speaks for itself. Being so young and so versatile there isn’t much that Phat cannot do on his own, whether it be writing a melodic pain influenced hook like his song “So Long” or putting together a club banger like his newest single “Diddy Bop”.
“I really don’t feel like there is nothing I can’t do. I can sing, I can rap, I can write. I feel like it’s just the opportunity, people gotta hear me to know. If you check out my music on YouTube or whatever platform I got something for everybody.”

On Phat’s newest single he actually recruited Boosie for the feature to once again show his versatility and also to show he can hold his own with a legend in his own right.
“Boosie is a legend around where I’m from, so to have him on a song with me is crazy. But once again, I am just showing a preview on what’s to come. I have a mixtape coming and an album coming called Chosen One.”
Confidence aside, GSO Phat is definitely heading in the right direction. Also seems that he has no interest in trying to get comfortable with his current position granted the artists that came before him. With Cash Money at the helm of his vision, safe to say the sky’s the limit in terms of his potential.
