If you needed some hope and inspiration, Carnegie Hall gave just that this past weekend!
On December 10th, Carnegie Hall hosted A Night of Inspiration where angelic music, dance and spoken word graced the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Acclaimed producer, composer, and music director Ray Chew and his wife and business partner Vivian Scott Chew produced an uplifting program including artists of all backgrounds. Some familiar names were Erica Campbell, Anthony Hamilton, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbet, Pastor Shirley Caeser, Regina Belle and many more. Accompanying the talent-packed lineup was a 64-piece orchestra and 150-voice multicultural choir.
A Night of Inspiration from start to finish invoked emotions from the entire Stern Auditorium. Guests were compelled out of their seats to dance to the joyful music. Some noteworthy performances were Bishop Hezekiah Walker performing his iconic gospel song, “I need you to Survive”, Tye Tribbet getting the audience pumped to his single, “Victory” and Anthony Hamilton performing his own rendition of “Grandma’s Hands”. There was also a special dance number dedicated to Ukraine performed by Dancing with the Stars veteran Val Chmerkovsky. The event ended on a special tribute to gospel singer Richard Smallwood which included a feature performance and 20-year celebration of his legendary song “Total Praise”. Here is a recap of the inspiring night!
