Season 3 of Hulu’s Ramy is set to be released on September 30th, and we sat down with stars May Calamawy, Hiam Abbass, and Laith Nakli to chat all about it.
Laith Nakli who portrays Uncle Nasseem in the Hulu series promises growth for his character. He also adds that he loves that Uncle Nasseem is a multi-dimensional character, despite how you may feel about him. “There’s a moment of hope towards the end of the season…so maybe it’s a seed for the future and finding peace.”
Season 3 picks up where season 2 left off back in 2020. This season, The Hassan family is collectively struggling with financial hardship and other issues in season 3. Ramy is focused on gaining business for his Uncles’ jewelry store and they even make a hilarious commercial for it, which Laith notes as a highlight of filming during season 3. “There was so much improvisation in that, I don’t even know what was scripted and what was wasn’t…it’s like the tackiest commercial ever but it was so good, it was so funny!”
May Calamawy shared Deena’s focus this season is on passing the bar to support her family. Dena suggests potentially selling the family home and moving into separate apartments. Hiam Abbass added, “everybody in this season is struggling and the whole family is struggling together.”

Giuliana and Bill Rancic Host The Pink Agenda’s Virtual Gala, Raising Over $275,000
The Pink Agenda held their annual gala virtually this past Thursday night to raise money, and awareness for breast cancer research and grant wishes to people living with breast cancer and undergoing treatment. The event was hosted by breast cancer survivor and television personality Giuliana Rancic and her husband, Bill Rancic.
The gala was informative and powerful, with many breast cancer survivors taking part in the virtual event. Being that the event was virtual, it allowed many people from coast to coast to unite for a good cause.
The gala opened with introductions from prominent celebrities and voices. It featured special guest appearances by Melissa Joan Hart, Ryan Seacrest, Taylor Lautner, and many others, including a musical performance by Katie Gavin of MUNA. Some speakers bravely shared their own personal journey with breast cancer while also raising awareness of the disease.
What makes The Pink Agenda’s Gala stand out every year is its generosity in granting wishes to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. The Pink Agenda has been partnered with Giuliana’s initiative, FAB-U-WISH, since 2014. FAB-U-Wish and TPA have been working together to grant wishes to over 325 women so far, shared Giuliana.
This year, wishes were granted to two women, each of whom shared their story from diagnosis through treatment and into recovery. One recipient was granted a future shopping spree, while the other was surprised with home renovations, both on behalf of Kendra Scott.
The night was a huge success with more, than 550 people attendees present and collectively raising a total of $275,000.
Exclusive: Jason Isaacs and Fran Kranz on Powerful New Film, ‘Mass’ [VIDEO]
Fran Kranz makes his directorial debut in the emotionally charged new drama, ‘Mass.’ The film centers on two couples, Jay (Jason Isaacs) and Gail (Martha Plimpton) and Richard (Reed Birney) and Linda (Ann Dowd) as they revisit a tragic mass school shooting that changed the course of their lives immensely.
The film takes place over essentially one long scene that extends throughout the entirety of the film. It allows for a raw journey of healing between the two couples as they attempt to revisit and process what happened on that tragic day. Exceptional performances are given by both Plimpton and Isaacs and Birney and Dowd and keep the audiences reeling as the events on that day are unraveled.
On playing such an emotionally charged character and working alongside Martha Plimpton, Isaacs said, “to be given a character as rich and complicated as [Jay] was an amazing gift and of course Martha is the best dance partner you could ever hope for. I just looked at her and she grounded me.”
Director Fran Kranz also wrote the screenplay to the film in response to the many mass shootings that happen in the United States particularly. “I’m witnessing the frequency of these events in our country. I had to confront those feelings again. I had to think of what would happen, can I move forward? Is it possible? And that’s what I wanted to write about.”
‘Mass’ is in select theaters beginning on October 8th.

A new immersive VR experience is making its way around the country and it’s none other than ‘Viva Las Vengeance: Army of the Dead.’ The VR experience is based on Zach Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ Netflix film which was released in May of 2021 that follows a group of mercenaries who attempt a casino heist amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas. The film became one of the most-watched original Netflix films with over 75 million viewers over the first four weeks in addition to a limited theatrical run. After a successful LA run, the VR experience, ‘Viva Las Vengeance: Army of the Dead’ opens to the New York area in Paramus NJ on September 8th.
In the ‘Viva Las Vengeance: Army of the Dead’ VR experience, mercenaries in groups of 2-6 embark on a rescue mission in a Sin City taco truck similar to the one in the film. From the shaking of the truck, wind in the air, the vibration from your weapon, and more, guests can expect to feel every twist and turn. After completing your mission you can then take a commemorative photo at the photo booth and head over to Sin City tacos.
The ‘Viva Las Vengeance: Army of the Dead’ experience by Netflix runs in partnership with Pure Imagination Studios, Fever, and The Stone Quarry.
