Ariana Grande super fans were given a special treat during the last weekend of September in the form of a colorful and Instagram ready interactive exhibit based on the pop superstar’s latest album, Sweetener.
Located in lower Manhattan, Sweetener The Experience was crafted by music streaming service Spotify in partnership with Grande herself and featured various rooms and areas within a studio where each track from Grande’s fourth studio album were brought to life.
From an upside-down room that celebrated Grande’s lead single, “no tears left to cry,” to a room painted to mimic the “God is a woman” music video, each area was crafted with immense attention to detail and were incredible to look at and snap photographs within.
“It is beyond anything I ever would have imagined,” shared one fan who traveled from Long Island to see the exhibit. “Each part of the exhibit matches each song perfectly and it is so cool that Ariana thought to share this experience with us.”
Fans lucky enough to score access to the exhibit, which ran for one weekend only, had to RSVP through a Spotify link before waiting to see if they were one of the chosen few to step inside Grande’s world. Once there and inside the studio, fans were escorted through the different areas and rooms that were decorated and sculpted to match the theme of each song on the pop superstars latest record.
One area in particular that stood out to Arianators was the “Pete Davidson” area which was named after Grande’s fiancé, who has his own song on the album. In the room, fans got to pick up a lock, inscribe the name of their loved one it and then hang it up on the chained wall, drawing inspiration from the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris.
Another cool stop in the exhibit was just before fans exited the interactive experience in the “goodnight n go” section which offered them a chance to leave Grande a note in a message book that she will read once the exhibit closes.
Overall it was truly exciting to see each song from Sweetener be brought to life in a space that allowed Grande fans a safe, fun and creative way to interact, mingle and meet one another. Fans had a blast taking photos in each themed area and were encouraged to share their snaps using the hashtag #SweetenerSpotify on different social media platforms.
