Newcomer to the Powerverse, Andrea Lee Christensen shares her experience as Riley on Starz’s Power Book 2: Ghost.
Ghost has reached its mid-season finale with fans hooked and invested in the lives of the St. Patrick’s more than ever. The characters that we love to hate have now become our favorites, at least for Tariq St. Patrick [Michael Rainey Jr.] but can the same be said for Cooper Saxe and his mischievous niece Riley [Andrea Lee Christensen]?
Christensen received the actor’s dream with her swift acceptance to join the hit show’s cast. After suddenly being asked to come in for a table read amongst A-list talent including Mary J. Blige, Method Man, and Courtney Kemp, Christensen was told, she got the part! “Courtney [Kemp] in front of everyone was like, stand up Andrea, she’s playing Riley and I was like, ah oh my God, this is so crazy,” Christensen recalls.
Christensen takes on the role of Riley, Saxe’s niece that he bribes into tailing Tariq instead of facing the consequences of getting busted for illegally buying weed. As of now, fans are team Tariq so will they be taking a liking to her character? “I really hope people like Riley,” Christensen comments.
However, before Christensen’s days of speedy auditions and exciting roles, she was an intern here at The Knockturnal. The Ghost actress was referred by a friend after being informed about an opening for a correspondent to cover a variety of events. “I was like, oh I really want to do that, of course, so I started working for her [The Knockturnal] and that evolved into being The Knockturnal. It was a really fun, good experience. I’m glad I did it,” states Christensen.
For more insight into Christensen’s journey, be sure to watch the full interview and catch Power Book 2: Ghost on Sundays at 9 pm EST.
