Even with the preparation of being told that my evening at Sushi Roxx was going to include a show, I wasnβt ready for the intensely fun atmosphere that would fill the restaurant for the entirety of the night. The music was pumping, and the lights glaring well before we even stepped through the thick drapes that hid what can be more accurately described as a club than a restaurant.
Everything about Sushi Roxx from the menu to the decorations screams βexcessβ and βfunβ. The walls are covered in huge screens, constantly broadcasting video mixes that accompany the DJβs playlist. The menus are iPads they pass around, and the dishes themselves are creatively comical in both name and ingredients. The surf and turf roll for example, boasts small strips on filet mignon over top lobster stuffed sushi. This sits on the menu next to other rolls that dubbed βApollo Creedβ and βBruce Leeroyβ. In between courses is when the real action occurs. You wonβt be able to get a hold of your waiter because theyβll be off either dancing, singing, or doing both just a couple feet away from your seat. The combination of your waiter being a featured performer, and lack of a traditional stage makes for a dining experience that is really fun.
At the end of the day, Sushi Roxx is all about having an exciting and loud dinner out with friends. It offers a great start to a long night out and it will definitely set the mood for the rest of your evening. Itβs good food, great dancing and singing, and a really energetic vibe.
