One of the more extravagant pride events for this month
The Stonewall Vision Awards has been one of the major ceremonies in recognizing LGBTQ members and activists. Now being in its 12th year, this award ceremony is one of the most talked about event during pride month. And this year’s honorees are Billy Porter, a Tony-winning performer, singer, actor, and advocate and Miss Peppermint, a finalist of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 as well as a huge trans activist. This event was held at Tribeca Rooftop in NYC and hosted 350 guests who celebrate, support, inspire, and uplift the LGBTQ community. Ranging from business and political leaders, activists, service providers, philanthropists, social media influencers, celebrities, and icons in art and entertainment, this gala really attracts a huge variety of people who are all here to support this vision. And what is even better is that this gala raises funds to support upwards of $750K in grants and programs for the community.
The cocktail portion of this event was beautiful. Held on the rooftop of Tribeca Rooftop on a gorgeous (not too hot or humid) evening, guests got a great view of both the New York City skyline as well as a view of the Hudson River. The drinks served this evening were spiked lemonade based drinks such as a lemondrop martini and lemonade infused champagne. The food provided at this cocktail hour ranged from an assortment of cheeses to sandwiches and fruit. This part of the event was a great time to mingle and meet all the colorful characters who are attending this event (and by colorful I mean that there were a lot of bright colors being worn at this event). With refreshing drinks, light food, and great people around, the cocktail event was a lot of fun.
