UN:DO advertises its campaign as a socially conscious contemporary fashion brand—its debut collection, UN:LOAD, was curated to bring social awareness to the plague of gun violence in America.
UN:DO was founded in 2016 by fashion entrepreneur Jack Klauber, who grew up in the south-side suburbs of Chicago. UN:LOAD was consequently created as an homage to the violence witnessed during his childhood in Chicago. “I have experienced first hand the dire situation of gun violence in my own community, and have always felt a devoted need to help remedy it,” Klauber states.
For this particular collection, his idea was to bring fashion and social activism together in an effort to reduce such violence, meanwhile impacting shoppers to direct their consumerism towards a meaningful cause. 20% of the collection’s profits go to Cure Violence, a nonprofit organization dedicated to gun violence prevention.
The brand’s debut collection features minimal designs with white, black grey colors. Each garment is shot by a 12-gauge shotgun, resulting in unique pieces that embrace a tattered, distressed look. You can also find similarly minimalistic accessories (cuffs, nameplate necklaces, and chokers) on their website: undonyc.com
The brand’s next collection will be titled Unchained, tackling issues of human trafficking.
UN:DO is ethically manufactured in New York City.
