How does an evening surrounded with talented bartenders as you watch them create delicious cocktails sound to you? Pretty great right? On June 27th, we were invited to the Most Imaginative Bartender New York City competition, which took place at Pier A Harbor House located in Battery Park.
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin hosted this amazing evening which began at 5:30 p.m. Guests were invited to the 3rd floor of this beautiful venue overlooking the Hudson River. As we made our way around the bar, the contestants were creating their signature drinks and we were offered cocktails made with of course, Bombay Sapphire Gin.

Each contestant made incredible looking and tasting drinks, of all shapes and colors. The ingredients used were very innovative such as green almonds, rosemary syrup, mint air, egg white, bilberry ginger syrup among others which made this drinks smell and look delicious.
As the contestants mixed their drinks and gave careful but exciting explanations as to how they were preparing their creations, the crowd was delighted and cheerful. Every time the bartenders shook their drinks, each with a unique shaking style, the guests burst out in a roar.

During the first two and a half hours of this competition, two judges were in charge of tasting and critiquing the drinks in terms of taste, presentation and creativity.
For the last hour and a half, each contestant went to their respective stand where now they could recreate their drinks for the guests. As the crowd made their way around the stands, they were in charge of being the critics since they would be voting for the winner at the end of the night. As the DJ played some fun old school tunes, people were enjoying the sweet and unique tastes.

As the event came to an end, guests chose their winner, Boston’s Schyuler Hunton. His “Breakfast in Bombay” cocktail, which was exquisite and extremely original, was inspired on your typical English Breakfast.

2 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
¾ oz Grapefruit Earl Grey Oleo Saccharum
½ oz Lemon Juice
½ oz Egg White
Filled with shakes, claps and lots of Bombay Sapphire Gin, this evening was indeed a success for the talented bartenders who got to shine with their creativity behind the bar.
