Saturday night Sir Ivan celebrated the recent release of his song “Kiss All the Bullies Goodbye” at his famous Hamptons castle.
We had all heard some pretty wild stories about Sir Ivan’s annual Hamptons extravaganzas, so you can imagine how excited we were to be invited to join this year’s event as we boarded one of the many buses lined up at Bryant Park that would shuttle us from the city to Sir Ivan’s Hamptons castle, which, it should be mentioned, has sometimes been called the “Playboy Mansion of the East Coast.” Finally, after the long ride out East (and all dressed, as instructed, in 70’s disco/Village People costumes), we pulled into the estate, and we got our first glimpse of the famous castle, lit up in rainbow colors across from the pool and a tennis court flying a gigantic banner advertising the focus of the celebration: Sir Ivan’s new anti-bullying song with Taylor Dayne and Paul Oakenfold.
We soon learned that fighting bullies isn’t just the theme of Sir Ivan’s newest song, but his entire raison d’etre. Shortly after our arrival, we were invited to speak with Sir Ivan himself, and we made our way up to the master bedroom for an interview. Dressed in his leather “Peace Man” costume (including a flowing cape featuring a huge rhinestone peace sign), a clearly enthusiastic Sir Ivan spoke to us at length about his charity, The Peaceman Foundation, which he founded to battle bullying, violence, and PTSD, in memory of his father, oil tycoon Siggi B. Wilzig. We hung out on Sir Ivan’s private balcony, taking photos and chatting with some new celebrity friends (Orange is the New Black’s Farah Krenek is super sweet) before heading back to the grounds for Sir Ivan’s live performance.
Suddenly, the sound of a roaring engine parted the crowd as Sir Ivan was driven into the house on the back of a motorcyle, where he took the stage and performed “Kiss All the Bullies Goodbye” before a sweaty and crowded house.
After the live performance, the DJ invited the scantily-clad crowd onstage were we disco danced until the morning. We have to say that Sir Ivan’s party definitely lived up to the legend.
