On July 6th, at the iconic Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the beloved Korean idol Baekhyun took the stage for the last U.S. stop of his first-ever solo tour under his own label, INB100. Not only did we witness a performance, but we also indulged in a declaration of independence and solo presence.
Known as the main vocalist of EXO, Baekhyun is no stranger to the Forum stage. Having performed on the same stage back in 2017 with EXO, and again in 2020 with SuperM. But this time was different. This time, it was his show.
Now, five years later, with fans longing for more of his solo work and just missing him as a whole, Baekhyun returned with the Reverie Tour, bringing a setlist that spanned from his most iconic solo hits to his latest EPs: Hello, World and Essence of Reverie, both released under his own label.
Hello, World sold over 890,000 copies on its first day and broke records for solo K-pop acts. Following the success of Essence of Reverie, the album went even further, achieving over 1 million copies sold within two days, extending Baekhyun’s streak as a consistent million-seller, further showcasing his artistry, impact, and the credit Baekhyun deserves.
As the final stop of the U.S. leg, Baekhyun transformed the Forum into what felt like an exciting theme park, filled with light, energy, and what he described as “youthful excitement.” His ultimate goal? To create a space where everyone could have a good and fun time. The name of the tour, echoing the word Reverie, was fittingly set with the performance that followed.
The excitement before the show took over the venue as the floor was shaking before he even stepped out.
The crowd erupted in screams and cheers. The audience was loud before, during, and after every single song. You could feel in the air how long they had waited for this moment.
Baekhyun entered the stage with tracks “Young,” “Ghost,” and “Pineapple Slice,” kicking off the show with high energy. Backed by dancers, the choreography added to the performance without ever overshadowing his unreal stage presence. Let’s just say this: Baekhyun did not go “ghost.”
“Welcome to BAEKHYUN concert! Welcome to my very first solo concert. As soon as I stepped on stage, I could feel how long you’ve waited for this… I hope tonight ends like a happy, unforgettable dream for you.”
Following came “Woo,” and Baekhyun took his jacket off. You knew it was getting serious! From the vocal runs to the choreography, eyes were glued.
“Underwater,” a more harmonious, slower-tempo song, followed, and the choreography flowed as if they were underwater. All the songs back to back beautifully encompassed both his new music and older favorites, before his beloved track, “Bambi,” took the stage.
In typical K-pop fashion, a VCR played during Baekhyun’s break and outfit change, perfectly aligned with the storyline of his new era, which continued to unfold throughout the show.
The next set included many new songs from this era. Most tracks brought a more instrumental, jazzy energy that still made everyone want to move, especially Baekhyun. He was so excited to be there and perform. You could tell by the way he danced with the audience, reached out to fans, and even came right to the edge of the stage to connect with everyone.
“Rendezvous,” “Good Morning,” and “Love Comes Back” were just some of the tracks that brought great energy, sweet lyrics, and that feel-good vibe.
These tracks then led into one of the most iconic songs of the night and his discography, “UN VILLAGE,” A track that shaped so much of Baekhyun’s sound. He said, “Sing along,” because he already knew… we knew.
Following the more lighthearted and airy tracks came a shift into songs with a more seductive and darker tone. Baekhyun returned to the stage in an all-black silk outfit, surrounded by dancers weaving through a sea of red silk, perfectly complementing the mood and concept of the set to come.
From “Truth Be Told” to “Cold Heart,” the atmosphere changed. Explosive guitar riffs took over, paired with sharper, more intense choreography that pushed the performance into powerful new territory.
“Cold Heart” stood out as a highlight of the night, with choreography comprised of electrifying movements, and Baekhyun’s signature vocal light and high notes that charmed the entire arena.
But in true Baekhyun fashion, and in keeping with the tour’s theme of youthful excitement, the vibe made a full 180, shifting into a cuter, lighter concept. Baekhyun reappeared in a colorful outfit, joined by dancers radiating bright energy and playful movement weaved into the choreography. It was a refreshing contrast to the darker stages before and felt symbolic of Baekhyun’s duality in both performance and sound.
The entire mood was airy and joyful, almost dreamlike… fitting, considering how many of Baekhyun’s songs revolve around sleeping, dreaming, and waking up.
One word? “Candy.” A fan favorite. Hearing the track live, paired with newer tracks like “Elevator,” had the entire crowd dancing in pure joy and vibrant color.
Baekhyun returned to the stage with sparkles on his face, a pink blush, and a classic cutie charm. The genuine gratitude he showed was unmistakable. With an EXO lightstick in hand, he closed the night with even more fun, warmth, and excitement.
This night felt like a dopamine trip wrapped in a heartfelt performance, a true showcase of an artist doing what he does best. Though the concert just ended, the excitement for future shows is already building.
