Summer is looking up with a vibrant collection of both new and classic rooftop bars popping up around New York City.

The Lookup

Ready to look up your rooftop vibes? The Lookup Rooftop at Kixby Hotel serves up seasonal bites and drinks with stunning views—including the Empire State Building towering overhead and Macy’s flagship right nearby. From the creators of Black Tap Craft Burgers, enjoy lobster rolls, truffle grilled cheese, street corn nachos, and more. Sip crafted cocktails, zero-proof drinks, local brews, and sparkling new glitter-topped Golden Hour prosecco. At Lookup, great eats, drinks, and iconic city views are always looking up!

Bar Sprezzatura

When life gives you lemons, grab a drink and head-up to New York’s coolest new rooftop. Kimpton Hotels never disappoint and Hotel Theta is no different. Set in an iconic Midtown Manhattan building originally designed by midcentury architect Morris Lapidus, it blends classic glamour with modern comfort.  New to the hotel is Bar Sprezzatura, a rooftop bar and restaurant inspired by the relaxed elegance of the Italian Riviera. In partnership with TableOne Hospitality, it’s the first East Coast outpost of the San Francisco original. Just off 8th Avenue, spot the lemon and slip through an unassuming door that leads to an elevator—your ride to sweeping views, signature spritzes, and coastal-inspired fare like Lobster Salad Bruschetta, Veal Milanese Bocconcini, Grilled Langoustine, and a Deviled Egg appetizer I’m still dreaming about. From 5–7 PM is Happy Hour with $4 beers, $8 wines, $10 cocktails, and small plates starting at $3. The Piccola Cena menu, available nightly, offers a $25 pre- or post-theater meal pairing a panini or burger with a cocktail or wine, making Bar Sprezzatura a vibrant, year-round option. The rooftop transports you off the busy streets of New York right into a relaxed Mediterranean sanctuary with beautiful views of the city.

Whether you’re lounging indoors or taking in the skyline from the outdoor terrace, it makes for the perfect spot for anything from a laid-back evening to a full-on celebration. The vibe shifts from classy cocktail hours to vibrant late-night scenes, with hours stretching as late as 4 a.m. on weekends. Expect a seasonally inspired menu and carefully crafted cocktails that make it the perfect spot for anything from a laid-back evening to a full-on celebration. With special events like Salsa on the Roof, Daylight Disco, and more, there’s always something happening to keep the vibe fresh and fun.

It’s a spot where I’ve suggested dates, brought my mother and have taken meetings – each just as impressed.  Bounce to it, mate.

Bar Harta at Grayson Hotel

Bar Harta at Grayson Hotel is inspired by the relaxed wine culture of the Western Mediterranean. The open-air space offers an inviting vibe with a curated selection of approachable wines, sparkling cocktails, and shareable bites, making it the perfect spot to unwind. After being exclusive to private events, Bar Harta reopens to the public this Memorial Day weekend to kick off summer.
