The Knockturnal spoke with Swisher about her partnership and upcoming holiday plans with family. She also mentioned that her show, Sweet Magnolia, has been renewed for a 4th season on Netflix. Fans can look forward to seeing what’s in store for the characters in the upcoming season.
The Knockturnal: As we continue into the holiday season, tell me what you enjoy most about using Abbott’s BinaxNOW COVID-19 Self Tests when someone is sick.
JoAnna García Swisher: I really trust the results for the Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Self Test. They come back so quickly in 15 minutes. When symptoms hit, especially in the holidays, you automatically start thinking, I have this plan or that plan and what’s that going to affect? And what are we dealing with? Is it the flu or cold? It’s a great first step for us just to see what we’re working with, what we are dealing with, and it just arms you with the facts. It’s quick and really reliable!
The Knockturnal: What attracted you most to Abbott’s BinaxNOW COVID-19 Self Test?
JoAnna García Swisher: The reliability, I really trust the product and it’s an easy test to administer. The results come back really quickly. It’s literally stocked in our pantry because it’s nice to know that you have the information and so you can decide what your next best steps are. Like any mom, keeping my family healthy is a huge priority. We got to have all the facts, and I do love that the Abbott BinaxNOW tests are just so easy. They’re just simple. I just grab it and go.
The Knockturnal: What are some of the Holiday plans you have coming up with your family?
JoAnna García Swisher: We are just really looking forward to having our family come into town. We have a big celebration on Christmas Eve, which is one of my favorite days of the year at our house. It’s just nice to get everybody together. Everyone’s so busy and all over the place and it’s just inevitably the time that we can be together and really enjoy.
The Knockturnal: What are some of the activities and traditions you enjoy doing with your children? Any favorite holiday memories together?
JoAnna García Swisher: We have incredible holiday traditions. It’s mostly centered around eating and drinking and spending time together. On Christmas Eve, we play a huge game of Minute to Win It. We break our families up and it’s and it’s a game that everybody can really enjoy. Up until last year, we would have a big family kickball game that was always incredibly competitive, and a lot of fun. The Minute to Win – it seems like, as the kids are getting a little bit older, they’re more interested in that one.
The Knockturnal: When traveling, what are your go to items to pack?
JoAnna García Swisher: I try to take as much of those little bits of home with me. I’m the crazy person that brings a pillowcase that is nice and cozy, so I know I always have that. The little essentials from home are usually the things that we pack, and my kindle really is a big must-have.
The Knockturnal: First congratulations, the show, Sweet Magnolia, that you star in was just renewed for a 4th season on netflix. Along with other projects you’re working on you’re also busy taking care of your family, how do you balance it all? What does your self care routine look like?
JoAnna García Swisher: Thank you! I’m very excited about season four. It ebbs and flows, there are some days where I feel like I can handle it all and juggle it all and there are days where I am totally overwhelmed. But, I have a really good support system. My husband and I are great teammates and we have a lot of people in our lives that are helping move the machine forward. I try to really take time to have a little time for myself, do things that I enjoy. Stealing those moments are really important and also making time for a date night every now and then – really prioritizing slowing down a little bit, because it’ll all eventually get done. It’s just a matter of you know how you go about it.
