Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project) and Jim Sturgess (21, One Day) co-star as a father-daughter duo with an investigative eye.
Apple TV+’s Home Before Dark tells the story of kid journalist Hilde Lisko (Prince) who’s determined to solve a cold case haunting her father Matt (Sturgess) and his hometown of Erie Harbor. The two characters are inspired by the real-life investigative journalists Hilde and Matt Lysiak. Writers applied the Lysiaks’ curiosity and Hilde’s precociousness into the script to birth Apple TV+’s school-aged crime solver. And producers enlisted actors Abby Miller, Aziza Scott, Kylie Rogers, Joelle Carter, Jibrail Nantambu, Deric McCabe, Michael Weston, and Louis Herthum to join the project. All 10 episodes of its debut season are currently available to stream.
Months before Season One premiered in April 2020, Apple TV+ announced the renewal of the mystery drama series. Filming in Vancouver went underway for the second season until shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Season Two’s production as a standstill, Prince and Sturgess remain a friendly face to one another in Vancouver. They share jokes, their families share meals, and everyone patiently waits for the return to set. The two let The Knockturnal in on all the camaraderie as we got to know the two actors a little better.
