New Yorkโs top influencers from every borough trekked down to the Public Arts Hotel in NYC his Thursday night to see artists Towkio, Duckwrth,ย Blackway & Shaboozey grace the stage. The night was filled with an open Photo Booth, tons of laughter, sprinkled with attendees from Justine Skye to Asian doll, and even a surprise performance from Amine.Hosted by on-air personalities Scottie Beam and Beats 1โs LowKey, complete with a full open bar from 1800 Tequila, and featured guest attendees such as Justine Sky and Asian Doll- the room was in high spirits throughout the night. ย The night kicked off with show-stopping performance from Brooklyn-born Ghanaian rapper, Blackway as he performed hit single โLove Dayโ, captivating the audience and getting every hand in the room up in the air and swaying.
With the audience still high off of the last performance, Blackway passed the baton to Shaboozey, who kept the same energy by promising the audience some โnext-level shitโ and perfectly delivered. Shaboozey created a mosh-pit like feel with audience members jumping up and down and headbanging to his mash-up of genres like rock, heavy metal, and hip-hop with songs like โWinning Streakโ and โJeff Gordon.โ
The stage transformed into a dancery when LA rapper Duckwrth took the stage, dressed in a shiny sequins shirt with picturesque backgrounds of California accompanying him in the background. Setting the tone for pure fun and good timeโs he announced, โWe want booty sweat as far as the eyes can see. It doesnโt matter if youโre a male or female. We want everybody in here shaking their assโ, before he gave one of the most energetic performances of the whole night to his classic hit โTHROWYOASSOUT.โ
Rapper Towkio kept the crowd on that same energy level when he took the stage and performed hits such as โSymphonyโ, letting the crowd jump up and down to a steady beat and quick-witted lyrics. Towkioโsย album, World Wide Wav, is set to drop Feb. 16.
With the night almost over, we were treated to a surprise appearance and performance from Amine. After asking the crowd, โWe werenโt on the bill, but we were in the neighborhood. Do you mind if we do one more song for you?โ He closed out with crowd favorites such as โSpice Girlโ and โYellow.โ
The night ended sweetly, with Republic Records staff surprising Amine with a Gold Plaque for his debut album, Good for You, going Gold, and the rapper warmly accepting the award then stating โIโm going to go home and sleep now.โ
