Pennywise the Dancing Clown is back and this time he’s scarier than ever.
The trailer to the 2017 remake of Stephen King’s It was released recently and it has everyone SHOOK. It starts off with the famous scene from King’s novel with six-year-old ‘Georgie’ and his newspaper boat that floats into the gutter where Pennywise makes his first appearance. This time, the clown looks more menacing. We also get a preview of the film’s protagonists – a group of seven children from Derry, Maine known as “The Loser’s Club”. The trailer gives us an inside look at how the kids discover that the clown is running around the town’s sewer system and how he antagonizes them.
The film – directed by Andrés Muschietti – is a part of a two-part project that will include the original story from the points of view of “The Loser Club” as children and then several years later when they are adults. The trailer included some of Muschietti’s work at play with the display of the clown’s wicked hands and his floating balloon. Pennywise will be played by Bill Skarsgard and ‘The Loser’s Club” will be Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Chosen Jacobs and Wyatt Oleff. The film will be in theaters September 8, 2017.
