Yandy.com’s Swim collection at 2017 New York Fashion week was hot, flirty, and fun.
Everything from the model styling to the brand swimsuits and lingerie turned up the heat during fashion week. We were backstage and front row at this collection’s runway show.
The theme this show was “Jetset” and was made for the customer who has a discerning eye for design, fit, quality, who is global.
The timeless collection is sophisticated, affordable, and sexy. It featured three unique lines, inspired by diverse culture: Havana Nights, Black and White, and Shah’s Life.
“The Shah’s life collection was a little bit of fun, middle eastern inspiration that I had,” says Pilar Quintana, who is vice president of Merchandising. “Havana Nights came from everything Cuba and me wanting to go there. I’m a Mexicana so I kind of love that Cuban inspiration, and then black and white always just seems to be something that everybody can wear,” she continued.
56 looks walked the runway that featured off-the-shoulder swimsuits and daring silhouettes, with bold prints, which made bold statements.
Lead makeup artist Allison Pynn focused on skin-care for the models, using products from YSL, Tom Ford, and Charlotte Tillbury, which was also key to their eye look.
“The collection has very brown tones, so I wanted to go for this golden-bronze goddess vibe. It was important for me to create the natural earth tones into the eye. I used a really pretty pop of copper and wanted them to be really their eyes to be really lashy and sultry. It was all about the eye,” Pynn said.
The best part about Yandy.com’s collection was the “See now, buy now” option, where you were able to go to the company’s website and buy the looks featured on the runway right away.
What made Yandy’s show especially unique is that it’s an Arizona based company. “We brought 90% of the models and crew doing hair and makeup from Arizona to be here with us today,” says Charley Clemens CMO of Yandy.
The models looked fresh and fun, reminiscent of the mid-western quality.
“We’re trying to bring Arizona to New York Fashion Week and then we’re going to have a show in Phoenix or Scottsdale in a couple where we’re going to bring New York Fashion Week back to Arizona,” Clemens added.
The collection incorporated a lot of lace and many of the suits were designed with cut in mind. There was also a diversity of patterns and colors.
Yandy had a range of suits from conservative and chic swimsuits, to other looks that were sexy and pretty. The swim slip-on/cover up’s made you want to run to the beach or go to a resort.
