W New York Downtown Hosts Sara Fabel as In-house Tattoo Artist

I can’t help but think that when a tattoo artist invites you for a session, they are in a way inviting you into their home.

You’re stepping into their realm, and giving them all of your trust. So, W Hotels’ idea to have an in-house tattoo artist while most definitely unique, doesn’t feel like a crazy idea. If you’re a guest at the four W Hotels in the city, you’ll have access to an amazing artist, who will ink you up in a beautiful room turned studio.

I got the pleasure of meeting Sara Fabel who is working at W Hotels’ Downtown location. Sara’s studio room looks amazing, and if you choose to have some work done, you’ll also have an amazing view of the freedom tower, which definitely isn’t something you get to say about most tattoo shops. But of course that’s all window dressing (no pun intended) the real star of the show is Sara’s work which is unreal. Her line-work is so gestural and yet precise, and her designs reference a lot of classic fantasy while remaining unique and innovative. Her art, as well as her studio, have a warm and cozy nature vibe. Against the sleek and beautiful modernism of W Downtown’s design, Sara’s energy makes her studio feel like a hidden grove.

The experience of getting a tattoo from a world-class artist during your stay at a gorgeous hotel is an unbelievably unique experience. So, if you’re looking for a place to stay while you’re in the city, W New York Downtown should be at the top of your list. You’ll enjoy a lovely hotel and have the chance to leave with some beautiful artwork on yourself rather than a dinky souvenir.
