The perfect day to relax and cool down from the summer heat
Last week Tres Agaves Tequila hosted a chic rooftop event at The Knickerbocker Hotel Rooftop to celebrate National Tequila Day and ring in The Knickerbocker Hotel’s upcoming Holiday Cocktails. The event featured four signature Tres Agaves Tequila cocktails – two refreshing summer drinks and two festive winter drinks. There was no better place to try out these drinks than at The Knickerbocker Hotel Rooftop. The St. Cloud rooftop, which overlooks Times Square and the New Year’s Eve ball, is in the process of getting a refresh and new programming this summer! With its three plush corner Sky Pods overlooking Times Square, stylish indoor and outdoor seating options, the exclusive Waterford Crystal Lounge, an ultra-luxe private room, and lush living walls of greenery, St. Cloud is the ultimate rooftop bar in NYC. Named for the late-19th century hotel that originally occupied the site, St. Cloud is the pinnacle of a luxury hotel. If you haven’t been yet, as soon as you get to the rooftop you are met with a chic interior to the bar where guests can lounge and enjoy drinks. There is also an outdoor section of the rooftop that features beautiful foliage décor and incredible views of Times Square.
As far as the seasonal drinks we tried from Tres Agaves, all four were unique and delicious to drink. The first drink being served was a Ginger Margarita made with Tres Agaves Blanco and featured the addition of lime, ginger juice, the Tres Agaves signature cocktail-ready organic agave nectar, and a candied ginger garnish. For the ginger lovers out there, this drink has a beautiful ginger taste that didn’t overpower the freshness of the margarita and the spiced candied ginger adds a fun kick to your palate as you sip the drink. The next featured drink was the Peach Paloma which was made with Tres Agaves Blanco, grapefruit soda, peach, and Tres Agaves cocktail-ready organic agave nectar. This fruit forward drink was so refreshing and had a wonderful balance of the sweet fruitiness of the peach and the tartness of the grapefruit soda. Moving on to the winter cocktails, the first drink we tried was called ‘Tis The Spritzer. This drink is made with Tres Agaves Reposado, fresh blood orange juice, aperol, cranberry juice, champagne, and topped with cranberries as a garnish. There is nothing that says winter and Christmas more than a cranberry based drink. And the natural sweetness of the cranberries comes out entirely in this drink while being complimented by the brightness and acidity of the blood orange juice. The champagne in the drink gives the cocktail a wonderful crispness too which makes this a very fun and playful winter cocktail to enjoy – especially sitting by a fireplace. The last drink we tried was the Frozen Mexican Hot Chocolate which was made with Tres Agaves Blanco, hazelnut chocolate beverage, grand marnier, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a dash of cayenne pepper. A frozen hot chocolate is somewhat of a staple for our winter and this drink reminded us of our first time trying the iconic frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity. The drink is creamy and decadent and you can taste the hazelnut chocolate with every sip. The cinnamon spice balances perfectly with the touch of heat from the cayenne and blends perfectly with the chocolate in this drink. This drink is somewhat like a chocolate flavored espresso martini with how it finishes too so if you want to bring that iconic summer cocktail into the winter, this is the drink for you.
Be sure to check out The Knickerbocker Hotel Rooftop Bar this season to try out some of the summer cocktails from Tres Agaves Tequila. And when the winter cocktail menu rolls out, don’t walk but run to this rooftop because these drinks are so tasty that you shouldn’t wait.
