Tinder Roulette an autobiographically musical revue by Mel DeLancey was spectacular. Her riveting performance explained all the blunders of dating over the age of 35 in New York City.
Opening the show with a song about her gambling filled childhood and continues to explain how her life effected her gambling with lust and love. DeLancey was fantastic in her delivery of funny anecdotes about men she graced with her love or lust that she met mostly on tinder. The singing was great (besides from a couple harmony issues when her sisters sang with her) and the atmosphere of the black-bricked theatre made the spotlight shine brightly on DeLancey. I would give Delancey’s performance two thumbs up and a gold star for the awesome display of talent (not scripted) at the end of the show. The show moved in waves of emotions from funny and light hearted, to melancholy and heart-broken.
Director Bryan Enk and musical director Norma Jeanne Curley also did a great job in portraying the highs and lows of NYC’s over 35 dating scene with their input in DeLancey’s theatrical interpretation.
Overall it was a great way to spend a Friday night in the Big Apple.
