Tucked away on the border of New York City’s Chinatown and SoHo, The KIOO Project presented Through Her Lens! A celebration of female empowerment through the magic of photography, donated artwork, good food, and stand-up comedy on Oct. 14.
KIOO’s mission is clear and revitalizing. The objective? To guide and educate young girls through the art of photography and creative storytelling across the globe. Those same girls then teach this newfound knowledge to their young, male peers. The girls’ creativity is not only nurtured, but uplifted. They’re seen as creative leaders by their boy counterparts.

KIOO’s program poses a unique opportunity to build community and creative exploration. The Through Her Lens! fundraising auction and event celebrated this impactful mission with art lovers and the broader New York creative community.
The night kicked off with a touching video recap of their latest initiative in Honduras. The festivity showcased an all-star comedy line-up featuring Napoleon Emill, Soo Ra, TaTa Sherise, Jenny Tian, and Joey Dardano.

From mentions of Harry Styles concerts to pilates cult-culture, the seasoned comics had the audience cackling throughout the night.
The art-filled evening continued with a silent auction. An exquisite group of artists close to the cause donated their original photography and visual art pieces, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the foundation and the launch of KIOO’s latest program.
