Industry Kitchen offers a panoramic view of the East River and Brooklyn skyline– a view almost as picturesque as your dinner partner. Begin the evening with a custom craft Cupid’s Arrow cocktail, blended with Aperol, prosecco, and passionfruit, before exploring holiday-themed specials like a strawberry, pomegranate, cucumber, and feta salad or the bourbon-glazed grilled rib eye steak with truffle butter and seasonal vegetables. Before heading back home to snuggle, indulge in the Golden Fondue for two featuring melted dark chocolate and 24K gold sprinkles. 24K magic indeed.
A French Kiss
Head Chef Frederick Piccarello embraces the language of love at Brasserie Saint Marc with a French Aphrodisiac-based Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu. For $75, guests can enjoy a three-course meal with options including oysters Kiev, trout amandine, and a chocolate fondue with strawberries and assorted French macarons, topped off with one bottle of sparkling rosé, champagne, or prosecco.
East Village Gem
The East Village location for the sake-based Japanese restaurant Sakagura offers an exclusive special for Valentine’s week (Feb. 10 – Feb. 14). All guests who order the Omakase Tasting Menu will receive a complimentary glass of Oze no Yukidoke Rosé Sake, and for Valentine’s Day only an additional course to the tasting menu featuring juicy Tochi-Otome strawberries from Japan. The dinner will no doubt be hot and heavy: chefs prepare Sakagura’s famed signature Wagyu Ishiyaki tableside on a hot stone.
A Mamma Mia Moment
Enjoy an intimate evening at Sicilian restaurant Tavolino with a $45 special that includes a glass of champagne, choice of an appetizer, entrée, and dessert from the full menu. We recommend starting with the burrata pesto crostini or wild boar and veal meatballs, venturing on to the pappardelle with veal ragu or spaghetti frutti di mare for a Lady and the Tramp moment with your date. Finish off the night with the chocolate layer cake, cannolis, or cheesecake for a meal no one can refuse.
Under the Sea
Perched on the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront, Estuary has perfected a globally-infused menu utilizing fresh seafood, meats and vegetables to highlight locally-sourced ingredients. Michelin-starred Executive Chef Danny Brown highlights Riesling poached oysters, butter poached Maine lobster, crescent duck, and red wine braised beef short ribs over truffle potato puree with glazed carrots, among other options for a romantic Valentine’s Day feast. The three-course prix fixe menu for $100 concludes with either a cherry lemon cloud with meringue and mascarpone cream, or a true heart’s desire with the Chocolate Lovers Heart featuring chocolate mousse, pistachio creme, and a raspbery gelee. You’ll find yourself in heaven with this divine menu!
For the Quirky Couple
Leave it to Brooklyn to create the most intriguing Valentine’s Day dessert yet: chocolate perogis! Greenpoint Polish pierogi shop PierozeK will add a new array of heart-shaped sweet pierogies for one day only on Feb. 14, including chocolate pierogis with a decadent chocolate filling and the candy-apple red heart periogis filled with raspberry, strawberry, and Hanusia sweet cheese.
National Singles Awareness Day Partiers
You’re fabulous, you’re fierce, you’re single. Who cares? Make the dreaded Valentine’s Day awkwardness disappear into Singles Awareness Day (Feb. 15) by partying all night at the newly-opened Hell’s Kitchen hotspot Casa Del Toro. The restaurant will feature a special a la carte menu with a twist on traditional Oaxacan dishes like the Tlayuda Divorciada, a Mexican pizza in the shape of a broken heart proving that revenge does in fact taste sweeter than whatever your ex is eating that night. Get tipsy off fire-injected cocktails while watching a special aerialist and live saxophonist perform, plus complimentary Casadores Tequila tasting. Cheers to that!
Regardless of your relationship status, Happy Valentine’s Day!
