Last night in NYC marked the final night of Fader Magazine’s #uncapped show series hosted by Vitaminwater.
Despite the frosty chill in the air, supporters donned their freshest gear and created a line that wrapped around the block as they awaited entry. Taking the stage were rapper Towkio, the melodic crooner Willow Smith and Chicago’s own Chance The Rapper.
Setting the tone for the evening, The Breakfast Club’s DJ Eny kept the crowd rocking with some iconic new york city hits. Intertwined with throwback classics Envy still kept things fresh allowing guests to Whip and hit their Nae Nae which led to quite the frenzy as the room was reverberating.
First to face the crowd was the charismatic Towkio. The Chicago rapper, of the Save Money crew literally bounced from one edge of the stage to the other. He performed songs off his recent mixtape .WAV Theory like “Heaven Only Knows” and “Clean Up” which both have features from the headliner of the night, Chance The Rapper.
After Towkio’s electric showcase, Willow Smith took the crowd on a smooth crusade of positive vibrations. Smith was deeply in tune with the crowd as she proclaimed “I can feel your energy.” The songstress had the crowd captivated as her voice has clearly matured and she gave a powerful rendition of her song “Why Don’t You Cry.”
The room filled even further with such a diverse crowd of feel good souls. Last to take the stage was the Acid Rap sensation, Chance The Rapper. The Rapper was given an uproar of love and cheers as he took set to begin. Known for his crowd igniting and soulful performances, the star definitely did not disappoint. He performed a number of his songs such as “Everybody’s Something” and “Juice” which were absolutely incredible. The night came to a blissful close as the Jazzy entertainer left the crowd dancing with a performance of his hit “Chain Smoker.”
The night was a complete and utter success as the performances only kept elevating the spirits in the room.
