On Thursday evening, the popular Candlelight Concert series debuted at the Edge in New York’s Hudson Yards with a charming tribute performance to Beyoncé and Bad Bunny. Starting now until mid-August, ticket holders to the Edge (the highest sky deck in the Western Hemisphere) can enjoy live, open-air mini summer concerts with breathtaking views of Manhattan.
The Candlelight Concert performances are wonderful live recitals that take place in various spectacular locations in over 150 cities worldwide. The shows allow guests to experience live music performed by talented local musicians in a completely new way under a spectacular, candlelit setting. From pop music and jazz to classical music and movie soundtracks, there’s a concert guaranteed for anyone to appreciate. The Candlelight Concert at the Edge— located at 30 Hudson Yards—is not to be missed. The experience offers an evening of live music surrounded by hundreds of illuminated candles and sweeping 360-degree views of the city skyline from 100 stories high.
Last night’s Candlelight Concert was delightful. While sitting atop of a staircase located on the Edge’s observation deck, a string quartet, consisting of two violins, a viola, and a cello, played many of Beyoncé’s hit songs, including “Love on Top” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The crowd quickly gathered around the LED candles and relished the beautiful music. They also marveled at the magnificent views and the cool, breezy weather from the 100th floor. The quartet also played some hit tunes from Bad Bunny.
The setup at the Candlelight Concert at the Edge is hassle-free and informal. There are no seats, and guests are allowed to stand anywhere on the observation deck to listen to the performance. As for attire? Wear whatever is comfortable to you. And access to the observation deck will be open 30 minutes before each performance time. The second Candlelight Concert continues on July 31 with a tribute to Queen and ABBA. This show will be a one-of-a-kind musical experience and definitely not to be missed.
The musical themes for upcoming shows at the Edge are:
July 31 – A Tribute to Queen and ABBA
August 14 – A Tribute to Coldplay and Adele
Aug 21 – A Tribute to Whitney Houston and Lauryn Hill
All performances begin at 9:30 pm and run 90 minutes long. Each concert is open to all ticketholders at the Edge, and tickets are on sale now here. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the indoor skydeck, which still has incredible skyline views.
The Candlelight Concert series at the Edge is worth checking out for all. It can even be a unique date night, especially for couples looking to enjoy live music. But overall, if you appreciate concerts, you will love this Candlelight Concert. Get your tickets now!
