With ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu‘ Jon Favreau pulls off something that has eluded Star Wars for years: a big-screen adventure that remembers how strange, scrappy and emotionally sincere this universe can be.
In the ever-expanding universe of superhero cinema, few franchises have had as tumultuous a journey as the Fantastic Four. After several iterations that struggled to strike the right chord, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ arrives not only as a much-needed course correction but also as a vibrant, heartfelt reimagining that feels entirely fresh — and refreshingly human.
HBO’s biggest show is back next month and last night’s LA Premiere event was infectious. I’ve worked carpets for 11 years and have never seen throngs of fans screaming the cast’s name and hoping for glimpses of their favorite actors. They blanketed the entire block and then some and were granted cordoned-off areas close to the stars where they cheered and commiserated.
HBO’s The Last of Us set the bar high with its first season but did not land the point with its second season.
We are entertained, even if only slightly!
By the end of 2023, there will be a major discussion on what are the best television episodes of the year. This week’s The Last of Us will be part of that conversation.
On Monday January 9, 2023 I attended the world premiere of The Last of Us at the Regency Westwood Village Theatre. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey star as Joel and Ellie. Other notable cast members include: Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, and Nico Parker all who were in attendance.
Prepare for what could possibly be the best video game adaptation of all time!
