This past Tuesday evening, on February 13th, the fashion world was treated to an unforgettable experience as LoveShackFancy unveiled their Autumn & Winter collection at the illustrious venue, The Box. Founded by Rebecca Hessel Cohen and known for their ultrafeminine and maximalist designs, LoveShackFancy did not disappoint with a show that blended high fashion with awe-striking lives performances, creating an atmosphere of pure indulgence.
The venue, a favorite in New York City and its fashion elite for its intimate setting and avant-garde performances, provided the perfect backdrop for LoveShackFancy’s latest collection, fittingly decorated with long, drooping pink bows, glitter & stunning flower arrangements, and over-the-top dessert decorations sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. The AW24 collection, aptly named Bowquette Burlesque, showcased the brand’s signature romantic aesthetic, featuring cascading bows, intricate laces, and opulent fabrics that transported attendees to a world of romance and elegance.
What set this event apart was not only the stunning displays of fashion, but also the immersive experience curated to maximize the glamorous, romantic, and elegant ambiance that is the essence of LoveShackFancy. Throughout the night, the audience was treated to live performances by iconic personalities, with the legendary Amanda Lepore taking the center stage. With flawless combinations & transitions between the models’ catwalks, dance performances, and mime shows, the event made for a truly eye-captivating spectacle.
The festivities were not limited to the runway and the stage; guests were treated to a wide array of culinary delights. Dunkin Donuts coffee and treats satisfied the sweet cravings, while the bar served up Pink Espresso Martinis, a wine selection from J Vineyards, as well as tequila-base cocktails sponsored by 21 Seeds to add a spirited flair to the event.
The LoveShackFancy event not only provided a platform for fashion enthusiasts to witness the latest designs, but also created a space where creative expression flourished. In a world where fashion is not just about the clothes, but the entire experience, LoveShackFancy’s AW24 Bowquette Burlesque at The Box stood out as a celebration of femininity, extravagance, and the artistry hallmarked by the brand, leaving a lingering sense of magic as the night came to a close.

We’re batting our pretty eyelashes down to Union Square’s relaunched Wink Bar.

What has been deemed as the “best lash extensions in New York City” celebrated the relaunch of their Union Square location, just in time for those holiday appointments. Their exclusive holiday beauty and wellness event garnered a packed house; seriously, it was packed to the door, with guests wanting to experience a luxurious night. With Hemp cocktails from Oneness, light bites by Butter Dose, a sound bath and traditional tea service, and specialty cocktails made by Tea Drunk, guests agreed it was the perfect night out to get us in that holiday break relaxation mode.
While enjoying the ambiance, we got to look at the lash stations, which are the definition of comfort. Every suite had an esthetician-style lash bed with a section to store your belongings easily. Not to mention, every station has a privacy curtain to keep your tea-spilling sessions between you and your tech; we know you have them.
The grand reopening of Wink Bar is only a preview of the warm and welcoming environment the staff has to offer. Aside from the ambiance, these lash technicians’ skills contribute to its rave reviews. Wink Bar specializes not only in subtle styles but also in their unique specialty, anime-style lashes. These full sets are spiky, wispy lashes of varying lengths, with the longest lash sitting in the center of the eye and shorter sizes framing the rest of the eye.
When speaking with Wink Bar creator Joslin Wang, she mentioned the importance of doing lashes in a natural, safe way that preserves your own lashes while providing a loving, meditative environment to round out the entire experience. By the looks of it, Wang stays true to her mission.

On November 20, James, alongside skincare brand Topicals, spirit curator Rémy Martin and more, celebrated three years of MBG with We Rise: A Toast to Women and Financial Literacy.
Held at the exclusive 2045 Studio in NYC, the celebration introduced guests to products from Topicals stashed in the ladies’ room, mani/pedis from Laqlab, 20 different scents courtesy of Mind Games Fragrance and the honoree of the evening; Ms. James.
Hailing from Brooklyn with Caribbean roots, James opened up about her journey during a Q&A. In short, the support from her community and interest in finance fueled MBG. “Knowing how Black women supported me, I had to pour back into them,” James noted.
