NEW YORK, NY – For its summer season finale, the American Ballet Theatre performed Romeo and Juliet (Kenneth MacMillan’s choreography and Sergei Prokofiev’s score).
During the reception hour, prior to the @giselle Premiere, Creative Director, Joshua Beamish, excitingly and passionately spoke: “We need to change the way that we consider how ballet applies to the world that we live in, and approach that with an open mind.”
On The Scene: Youth America Grand Prix Hosts Annual “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” Gala at Lincoln Center
On Tuesday, Youth America Grand Prix, the world’s largest Ballet Scholarship Organization, made it’s return to the gorgeous Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center to celebrate its annual Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow Gala, for the first time since before the pandemic. Supporters were welcomed back by YAGP Founder Larissa Saveliev and Board Chair Richard Osterweil as well as hosts Paul Arnhold, Elissa Brenner, Lili Buffett, Grace Fuller Marroquin, Wes Gordon, Alyson Gradone, Rebecca Hessel Cohen, Sarah Hoover, Lilli Hymowitz, Marcella Hymowitz, Eve Jobs, Lindsay Kraus, Candice Miller, Colby Mugrabi, Grace Pomeranc, Indre Rockefeller, Daniela Tisch, Virginia W. Tomenson, Lesley Vecsler, and Lina Wallach.
The Dancers of the Met are an independent collective of dancers from the Metropolitan Opera, born out of the need to remain connected to their craft through the pandemic.
