High fashion streetwear brand Slow Build Heavy Grind hosted its first pop-up in collaboration with Likelihood, a men’s footwear boutique in Seattle, on Saturday, May 26th.
LA-based designer Krystian Lorenzana started his venture into the world of streetwear and fashion as a styling assistant and costumer for film, television, and music videos. He has created pieces for some of the big names of hip hop, such as Chris Brown, Kehlani, and French Montana. Lorenzana’s brand, Slow Build Heavy Grind, gained wide attention after his pieces were featured in Big Sean’s music video for his hit song “One Man Can Change the World” and throughout the promotion for Big Sean’s 2015 album, Dark Sky Paradise.
SBHG’s appeal comes from the incredible attention to detail—Lorenzana individually makes, distresses, and hand sews every order, spending hours perfecting a single piece. He is a one-man team and overlooks every aspect of his brand, from design, marketing, shipments, to quality control.
The pop-up event at Likelihood’s Seattle location will feature pieces from this exclusive collaboration, highlighting Lorenzana’s signature hand-distressed look, neutral shades of army green, sand, and black, and Likelihood’s hexagonal logo. The pop-up at Likelihood’s boutique will also have a limited amount of Slow Build Heavy Grind’s signature pieces, such as the distressed hoodie and the deconstructed duffle jacket.
