Sean John Names Blocboy JB & Derez De’shon The Faces of Spring 2019 Campaign

In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Sean John announced Blocboy JB & Derez De’shon would be the new faces of its Spring 2019 campaign which will include capsule pieces from the BASQUIAT X SEAN JOHN collection and Revolution series. The BASQUIAT X SEAN JOHN collection focuses on Basquiat’s works like “Pez Dispenser,” “Melting Pot of Ice,” and “Dog, 1982,” while the Revolution series focuses on social justice.

Sean John President, Jeff Tweedy said, “We continue to celebrate 20 years of Sean John and the Spring campaign is a perfect example of the power and relevance of our brand.” Both Blocboy JB & Derez De’shon had chart-topping singles last year and continue their streak of success by being the brand new faces of Sean John. The new campaign will be featured in stores and online! The Knockturnal: What was it like working with Diddy’s iconic brand, Sean John?

BlocBoy JB: “Amazing. It’s crazy how when I was a kid Sean John was big and now they have a new vibe and I’m working with them.”

The Knockturnal: Why do you think Sean John is still relevant 20 years later?

BlocBoy JB: “You would have to ask the people runnin it, but they may not tell you their secret.”

The Knockturnal: What are you working on right now?

BlocBoy JB: “I have a special project I’m in the studio cooking up right now, working on my lawsuit and putting plans for a tour together.”


The Knockturnal: What was it like working with Diddy’s iconic brand, Sean John?

Derez De’shon: It’s an honor to represent an iconic brand like Sean John for a new generation. I’m doing this to give the big guys of the world confidence in themselves because we sexy too.

The Knockturnal: Why do you think Sean John is still relevant 20 years later?

Derez De’shon: The style, culture and legacy of Bad Boy and Diddy stands the test of time. Sean John is timeless.

The Knockturnal: What are you working on right now?

Derez De’shon: I just dropped a new mixtape “Pain 2” in December 2018 that got over 60 million streams to date and album features with Lil Baby, Russ, Yella Beezy, Moneybagg Yo, Mozzy, Dreezy and more. The Derez De’Shon movement is from the heart. It’s for the hustlers, strugglers and anyone who is surviving to feed their babies, families and do better in and for their community.

The Knockturnal: How would you describe the Sean John brand in three words?

Derez De’shon: Iconic, Classic, Fashion
