Plenty of magic to go around on the red carpet with stars like Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Joey King, Maisie Williams and more making the night truly magical indeed.
The highly anticipated film — which also brings back the Owens aunts Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest, as well as newcomers to the franchise Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod — premieres on Sept. 10 in theaters.

For fans who have spent years quoting the original, dreaming of the Owens house, and wondering whether the midnight margaritas might still be flowing, the wait is finally (almost) over.

And yes, the margs were flowing at the premiere and I’m sure they’ll be flowing as friends come together to catch the film once it hits screens.
The cast has been doing an all-out press blitz leading up to the premiere, thrilling fans with surprise sightings, nostalgic moments, and plenty of love for the original.
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock play sisters in the film, of course, but they looked like real-life besties. Fielding questions on the carpet together as a pair and looking like they were having such fun.

Naturally, we got into the spirit on the carpet. And what better way than kicking it backwith a little trip to another major 90s hit Hope Floats and imagining what kind of conversation Sally Owens would have with Birdie Pruitt if they were to meet up for a cup of coffee.
“I love that film,” Nicole Kidman said.“Sally would be like, ‘Birdie girl, get your shit together,’” joked Sandra Bullock. “You’d need Gena Rowlands there… we’d need her to be the mediator. And Dianne and Stockard to go ‘Come on ladies. Talk to each other, figure it out.’”Could we have pitched the plot for Practical Magic 3?
But if anything could make that happen, it would probably be some Owens girl magic. We’re available if it happens, hint hint!Like Bullock and Kidman, whose fashion game has always been on point — Joey King and Maisie Williams have been fashion-maxxing for every press stop. They had gorgeous, glam looks for the carpet and then changed into another fit for the after-party.For Williams, the fashion conversation’s been all about looking back and family — and specifically her Practical Magic family.
She plays Sandy’s daughter in the film and throughout the press tour, she’s played homage to her film-mom’s own red-carpet history. So on the carpet, we just had to ask her what’s next — seriously, we’re living vicariously though these major vibes.“I wanna wear the dress she wore to the Speed premiere.” Williams told us. But alas, “I went to the archives and we couldn’t figure it out.”Putting out a call-out to anyone who can help. Also, ahem, we want the fit too please! The film itself is a throwback to the 90s and to having fun in a theater with a movie that genuinely seems like the entire cast had a blast making the film.
For sure, on the red carpet where friendships were clear. But also — spoiler alert: you could feel the joy and friendship in the film even. The stars just looked like they were having fun IRL, along with the characters. It’s the perfect film to watch with your sisters and your besties.“Just being a part of something so universally loved was a special feeling, it was very humbling. I was very honored, you know, to be a part of it. And to work with Sandy and Nicole and Joey and Maisie and everyone, I mean, it was a treat. They’re wonderful, wonderful people.” Solly McLeod said. And with so much excitement for the new film and so much love, McLeod shared that it was “Quite intense. The pressure was on, you know, to do the first film justice.”
The pressure was on, but the fun was clearly had across the premiere — and soon to be in theaters. Grab your favorite girls because, as the saying goes, it’s ‘time to raise a little spell.’
