Enjoyed by A-list guests at the SAG Awards, this classic cocktail calls for the legendary Campari liqueur for a herby, bitter sip.
Campari, the iconic Italian aperitif, was the official sponsor of the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® in Los Angeles and Hollywood A-listers such as Cynthia Erivo, Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Lady Gaga, Helen Mirren and more walked the red carpet in celebration of the year’s outstanding performances across film and television.
The drink of the night? The Campari Negroni. The cocktail, considered the “definition” of balance, is a mix of vermouth, gin, and Campari garnished with an orange peal (ideally “expressed” on the drink, where the oils infuse into the mix). Dry and wonderfully bitter- a true sipper- the Negroni is as sophisticated as the performances being celebrated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Campari is a longtime patron of cinematic arts, committed to championing creatives using cinema as the convention to break boundaries. The Negroni, arguably the most famous Italian cocktail, is the right companion for celebrating these talents. Awardees of the night included Helen Mirren with a Lifetime Achievement Award, HoYeon Jung as best Female Actor in a Drama Series (Squid Game), Jason Sudeikis for his role in Ted Lasso, and Jean Smart for her work in Hacks.
