With the success of the foodie’s daydream at Ainslie’s restaurant in Brooklyn, South Village Hospitality Partners, AJ Bontempo, Sergio Riva and Mario Riva have expanded to Manhattan!
Ainslie is the official name of the Brooklyn location, however, the partners have changed the name to match the location of the new opening – Ainslie Bowery! The new 20,000 square feet restaurant offers Italian food lovers several rooms to explore, including the main open space with long, wooden picnic tables across the bar, for social butterflies, a secluded private party space in the front (which has clear glass, “garage-esque” doors that open during the warmer weather), and individual seating in the back, for romantic date nights to create your own “Lady and the Tramp” spaghetti moment!
The interior design have yellow hues of low mood lights, that set a relaxing tone, hanging ceiling plants, curved and wide wooden doors, and lots of industrial accents – mixing together the Mediterranean Italian side with the industrial vibes of the New York City side. I noticed notorious Artist, Shepard Fairey’s art tag on the main, colorful mural, and loved the aesthetic of the restaurant even more! During the delicious pre-opening party, we sampled the delicious menu items, and cocktails. The hosts showcased Ainslie Bowery’s menu on the picnic tables offering, personal wood-fired oven pizzas, linguine vongole, cacio e pepe, wood-fired rosemary wings, and burrata, aka, a party for your taste buds! The celebratory party kept the drinks flowing, the food coming, and the guests entertained, with a talented saxophonist that created a unique rendition of the DJ’s tunes!
