A lovely Sunday afternoon calls for media professionals to join together and indulge cuisines by private Chef Arlene Stewart.
The event took place last week Sunday at The Carriage House in New York City. The interior of the house featured a gorgeous fall-like outdoor patio once you’ve entered. The area was cozy, homey, and everything that reminded you of family. As a mother of two, that is what the chef is all about. Cooking dishes from foods all around the world that inspired her and of her homeland, Trinidad.
The chef started off with a beautiful charcuterie board. She encouraged guests to try the plantain chips with cheese, a slice of guava, and to top it off with a spicy dip. She even had a sorrel jelly! Other courses throughout the brunch featured Corn soup, (A Trinidadian stable), a roasted squash with a side of salad, Crab n’ Callaloo (absolute amazing dish), Fried bake and Saltfish, and Moroccan inspired desserts, a brownie with a pistachio and fruit tart bar. The brunch also featured cocktails such as the ‘Green Goddess’, and was sponsored by Bartenura and Patron Tequila. Towards the end of the brunch, the chef gifted her attendees personal spices she’s created as a thank you for spending time with her.
