Oxford Fashion Studio returned to New York Fashion Week with three runway shows to display the creativity of 15 independent fashion designers.
We had the pleasure of attending the Group III show, which showcased five new designers. As a program that gives exposure to upcoming international talent, the focus was on each designer’s style and presentation in a mini fashion show. Group III’s newcomers were Lesunja, Daykeyla, Meticulously Eccentric, DM Jewelry Designs, and Megan Cannings. During the mini fashion show, each designer sent six looks down the runway on a diverse cast of models with their own styling, hair, makeup, and music.
With a theme surrounding luxury and glamour, Lesunja’s traveled around the world with a collection of statement necklaces, elegant earrings, and body jewelry.
Daykeyla’s Schizo collection displayed a colorful twist on a vampy aesthetic that channels everyone’s middle school goth.
The color and creativity of go-go and disco creating the party that was the Mod Squad Goals collection. From the bold eyewear to the vibrant color scheme at every turn, Meticulously Eccentric showed us how to have fun with clothes.
DM Jewelry Designs
For DM Jewelry Designs’ Soul Inspired collection, all of the focus was on the jewelry. With simple styling, each piece created feelings from the heart and soul.
There were endless showstoppers in Megan Canning’s Spring Bouquet. From a gown with pink ombré flowers to one that could hold its own amongst bridal couture, Cannings proved that she’s a fabulous designer as well as an artisan who’s honed her craft of creating gasp-inducing drama with fabric.
