On Wednesday, June 24, Nautica in partnership with Oceana launched the 1st Annual Nautica Oceana City & Sea Party at the Gansevoort Park Avenue Rooftop. This event was put together to help raise awareness about Oceana’s goals of saving the ocean and it’s ecosystem as well as helping to protect the oceanic wildlife. The host of the evening was How I Met You Mother star, Cobie Smulders, who has been a very big supporter of Oceana and their mission for a little more than four years. Also in attendance was Oceana Senior Advisor, Alexandra Cousteau, who has dedicated a lot of her time to help move Oceana forward.
On this rooftop, guests mingled with each other, enjoying a nice selection of drinks like the specialty elit by Stolichnaya cocktails such as a pineapple and lime spritzer or a cucumber and mint spritzer, as well as the fine pinot grigio or merlot. This event also had a wide selection of tasty appetizers such as a tender chicken in a sweet ginger sauce that basically melted in your mouth or the beef empanadas with a fresh chimicurri sauce to go along with it. Other foods served included a grilled cheese sandwich bite with a tomato soup dipping sauce, a simple crostini, mozzarella balls with cherry tomatoes, and for dessert there was a selection of three cupcakes: rum infused cupcakes with a small berry filling, a bourbon infused cupcake, or a Hennessy infused cupcake. The pairing of the wine, food, tunes by DJ Guillaume Via, and the great view overlooking Manhattan leant to the evening’s huge success. The event also received support from Discovery Channel (to celebrate Shark Week beginning July 5) and media partner Manhattan Magazine.
