The Oxford fashion show supports a collective of independent designers and during NYFW they showcased originality and integrity.
The show was built upon unique ideas and concepts being celebrated through a range of young designers’ collections. The impressive designs featured all kinds of materials and embellishments sourced from around the globe adding a special notion to the runway. The diversity of the designers allowed the audience to connect to different items and gain an understanding of what direction young designers are going in this season. Some highlights from the show include a jelly like collection created by Budapest based Viktoria Tisza which showcased originality and unique silhouettes construed from the “norm” and transformed into ‘art-fashion’. This collection was highly appealing in terms of visual satisfaction – it hit all the right notions.
“We began Oxford Fashion Studio with a love of supporting independent design talent. Going all out for individuals we believe in; for the good of independence, originality, and integrity. 9 years on we are responsible for continuing to strengthen over 639 independent, quality designers, ranging from over 70 countries, to give them a platform in the four fashion capitals during fashion week. The talents we scout have often been undiscovered in the fashion capitals and we’re incredibly proud to be the ones to bring them to the front line of the industry, ” Runway Director, Tiffany Saunders shred.
The array of brands that were part of the collective had a unique vision and fabrications. The designers created with the idea to inspire rather than be inspired the originality was a high point of this show.
