Benedetta Barzini, the first Italian model to appear on the cover of American Vogue after being spotted by fashion icon Diana Vreeland who soon arranged a photoshoot with renounced photographer, Irving Penn, it was this series of events that led to Barzini’s success in New York City.
Pier 17 was the location of Jason Wu’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection and return to the runway for NYFW. Wu focused on his signature textile manipulation techniques juxtaposed with summer colors and layers of silks adorning the pieces to reflect his new found vision going forward with his label.

On Saturday we attended the Fashion as an agent of change – the panel of esteemed ladies provided an insight into stigmatism’s, race, gender, sustainability and ethical practice within the fashion industry.
I would like to introduce you to Amber Vittoria, an NYC based artist challenging conventions about the “ideal” female figure, drawing parallels to a vital topic in today’s society. Inspired by the perspectives on women she portrays colorful, engaging and thought-provoking ideas through her mixed-media artworks. You may be familiar with her work as she has collaborated with an array of fashion brands and publications such as Vogue, Gucci, Adidas, and Man Repeller.
Livari, a brand that brings together fashion, art and activism founded by three hardworking women who celebrate their passion for ethical and sustainable goods.
Ruby Fang showcased ‘Morpheus,’ her SS19 collection during NYFW on Sunday evening. Elevated pant-suits and flattering evening gowns made statements while on the runway and the real highlight was the Chinese inspired items drawing inspiration from Fang’s heritage.
In an age where activism is a central aspect of society, the fashion industry has also embraced advocacy. Renowned designers such as Burberry, Gucci, Chanel and Prada address issues through presenting ideas in fashion campaigns and promoting diversity in runway shows, merging styles from world citizens and origins into their catwalks.
